International Football Aid

Welcomes you

Education broadens our horizons to a wider more exciting world. Our universal passion for sport unifies countries and continents.

International Football Aid (IFA) is a registered UK charity which recognises that one of the strongest weapons in the fight against poverty is education. Many children in third world regions are trapped in townships and ghettos still unable to read as they reach adulthood.

IFA embraces education and sport in a series of mini academies which provide out of school education programmes in football, athletics combined with literacy, numeracy, ICT and citizenship for children age 9 - 16 in third world regions. For 6 hours (4 hours education, 2 hour football) every day up to 125 children can benefit from an IFA mini academy.

This is not a quick fix solution.

IFA researches historical, cultural, geographical, socio economic and educational aspects of each area where a mini academy is to be formed. Working in conjunction with education departments and community leaders IFA devises education programmes tailored to the requirements of each unique locality.

IFA is adaptable to any country, in any continent, through researching each countries’ unique geographical, historical, cultural, educational and religious attributes. Each project will be unique and it responds to the individual requirements of the country.

Our holistic ethos ensures that pastoral care, work, leisure and spiritual well-being are closely observed at all times, nurturing the needs of each individual.
IFA aims to create good citizens who will make a significant contribution in the work place and community life, whilst maximising their sporting potential.

The concept of IFA was born in early 2003, following a year of extensive travelling and observing young children playing football on beaches, on scrub land and on urban city waste ground. Children of all ages, in many different countries were observed forming groups and playing different styles and varieties of football. A group of professionals based in the UK, have created a system where children can benefit from both education and sport.
